It was an honor to be present amongst such great heroes, as our local World War II veterans were remembered. Both they and other attendees reflected upon the final end of World War II, with VJ Day. This happen 70 years ago with the signing of unconditional surrender in Tokyo Bay.
The West High School ROTC Honor Guard did a fantastic job with the display of flag colors during the national anthem. Kern County Supervisor David Couch gave the opening remarks, reflecting upon our veterans sacrifices, along with the thanks of a grateful nation.
